All students in Years 7 through to Year 10 are involved in the school’s multi-activity Physical Education program. The activities undertaken are both team-based ball sports and individual sports.
The four-year program aims to promote the student’s development in the following areas:
- Fundamental Motor Skills: all classes involve skill rehearsal sessions to promote specific sports techniques and general motor skill development.
- Safe Game Play and Tactics: all instruction is aimed at promoting the cognitive development of the student and the knowledge of how to apply skills to a game situation.
- Sportsmanship and competition: all students are exposed to modified game situations that aim to maximise participation in a safe and positive learning environment.
Mary MacKillop Catholic Regional College involves students in the following levels of competitions and events:
- Inter-house Competitions – Swimming, Athletics and Cross Country.
- Inter-school Competition
Mary MacKillop Catholic Regional College competes in SSV (School Sport Victoria).
There are many sports in which the school competes in – Football, Soccer, Badminton, Cricket, Basketball, Netball, Table Tennis and Volleyball – just to name a few!
